Well the Alpha EzMilitary antenna didn’t work as I expected it to so I sold it and now I am looking for a new portable antenna. So back to the drawing board…

FT-857D Has Arrived!!
The FT-857D has arrived and I am still sifting through the manual as I am still waiting on my HF antenna to arrive. I decided on the Alpha EzMilitary 6-80m antenna and once I have it I will post up more info regarding this antenna.

New HF Radio Ordered
Well I have decided that for my first HF radio I will be getting the Yaesu FT-857D and the LDG YT-100 tuner. I am still working on what antenna I am going to use as this is going to be mainly a portable HF radio that I am going to put into a Pelican case. More information to come!!

New Antenna Installed
Today I installed my new antenna on my trunk. It will be used on my HT for now as I am wanting to get a new dual band mobile radio but as always I am still undecided on what to get. Still researching 🙂

General Exam Passed
Well I studied my butt off after I passed my Technician exam and took my General exam today and passed it. I am glad I got this exam done before all the questions change in June:) I am still working on getting my HAM shack setup but I may need to move to another room in the basement:) I am also still trying to figure out what HF rig I am going to get. I am leaning toward the Yaesu FT-991 so I can have HF, UHF, and VHF.

Technician Exam Passed
Well today I went to a local HAM fest that was offering exams and I successfully passed my technician exam. I will be using an HT for a while until I can my HAM shack setup in my basement. Looking forward to making some new contacts and friends.

New Yaesu FT1DR HT
Today I got my new FT1DR and I am enjoying listing now as I am still studying for my Technician exam. I will be taking my exam soon so talk to you after then.
